Accessibility statement

This accessibility statement applies to the blogging site managed by Oxfordshire County Council.

This blogging site is hosted by Ghost for Oxfordshire County Council. We want as many people as possible to be able to use it.

For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings
  • zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using a keyboard or speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand by writing in plain English and avoiding jargon.

Compliance status

Our blogging site is hosted by Ghost, the content is managed by Oxfordshire County Council. The website has been tested against the WCAG 2.2 AA standard - this accessibility audit report was completed on 9 March 2026 by My Vision, an independent accessibility specialist.

Non-accessible content

No critical issues were found. The 16 validated findings represent targeted adjustments rather than structural failures that block content access.

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

  1. Explore with developer the option to add skip navigation link to ensure users can access content without having to move through the navigation
  2. Explore with developer that search and responsive navigation icon buttons have no visible focus indicator
  3. Update 'show more' / 'more' links to ensure they identify their destination
  4. Explore with developer that Ghost Portal sign-up/sign-in model lacks dialog
semantics and does not restore focus
  5. Explore with developer that horizontal scrolling occurs at 320px width
  6. Explore with developer that Ghost search overlay is not exposed as a clearly labelled dialog and does not return focus
  7. Ensure homepage labelling identifies the blog landing page

These will be updated with more information and date of closure as they are resolved.
